Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko is on his way to join Newcastle in January, according to L’Equipe.
With key midfielder Yohan Cabaye not likely to return into action before February, the Magpies are desperate to sign another creative midfielder in the winter transfer window.
As a result, the St James Park outfit are ready to reignite their interest in Toulouse’s Moussa Sissoko.
Sissoko, 23, will be free to leave on a Bosman deal next summer, but Newcastle would prefer to sign him at a cut-back fee in January and thus pip other interested clubs to the player’s signature.
Given that Newcastle squad boast no less than seven players who have been trained in France, the talented midfielder should have no problems fitting in at St James Park.
Moussa Sissoko has spent his entire career at Toulouse, making 187 Ligue 1 appearances for le Tefece, and scoring 20 goals in the process.
