French newspaper Le 10 Sport has revealed that FC Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho has agreed to join Monaco in the summer transfer window.
The French giants seem to have persuaded the Portugal international to make a move to Ligue 1, although the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
Nevertheless, free-spending Monaco seem prepared to meet the player’s €40 million release clause and they expect to wrap up the deal in the coming days.
Joao Moutinho has been given assurances by Porto chiefs that he will be sold at the end of the current campaign, and he was believed to prefer a move to English Premier League.
Paris Saint-Germain were also showing interest, but it looks as though he could not resist a lucrative offer from the Principality.
Monaco are also reportedly closing in on Radamel Falcao, while they are also keen on Dani Alves and Carlos Tevez.
