Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho will be allowed to leave the club in the summer, according to Diario de Noticias.
The highly rated midfielder was on Tottenham radar during the January transfer window, but Spurs were unable to reach an agreement with the player’s employers.
Diario de Noticias, however, reports that Moutinho was then given assurances that he would be allowed to leave in the summer transfer window.
Spurs are, therefore, set to reignite their interest in the Portugal international, but they could face a stiff competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.
Porto value the midfielder at £22 million and they are obviously looking to sell to the highest bidder.
Joao Moutinho, 26, has long been regarded as one of the most talented midfielders in world football, and this may be the right time for him to move to one of Europe’s top leagues.
He has spent his entire playing career in Portugal, representing Sporting Lisbon and Porto.
