Moyes coy on Welbeck exit talk

Manchester United manager David Moyes has refused to dismiss reports that Danny Welbeck has handed in a transfer request, according to the Daily Star.

The England international has been used sparsely this season, making just thirteen starts in the Premier League, scoring nine times.

After he had come on as a 75th minute substitute in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Everton, his manager refused to be drawn on his future, though he did outline the striker’s importance to the team.

North London duo Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked with a move for the 23 year old, who has spent most of his playing time this season playing out wide rather than his preferred position down the middle.

Following their defeat at Goodison Park, United sit in seventh place, six points behind Spurs with a game in hand, and can be backed at 2/1 to finish in the top six.
