(GSM) – Everton boss David Moyes has refused to draw himself from speculation regarding the Merseyside club being interested in signing Standard Liege duo Axel Witsel and Dieumerci Mbokani.
Moyes headed to the Stade Maurice Dufrasne to watch the team’s Europa League quarter-final against Hamburger SV last week and it is believed Belgium midfielder Witsel, 21, and Congo striker Mbokani were the duo under consideration.
Moyes told the Liverpool Echo: “I know what I would like to do in terms of strengthening the team. We will always want to add one or two around the edges, but for us where we are now we want to add one or two quality signings, which would mean some expensive purchases.
“Will I have the funds to do that? I don’t know yet.”
