Everton manager David Moyes believes there is still a chance he could extend United States winger Landon Donovan’s loan spell at Goodison Park.
Donovan is currently set to return to LA Galaxy after Everton’s Premier League clash against Birmingham this weekend at the end of his loan.
The 28-year-old has impressed during his time with the Toffees, scoring twice in nine league appearances and produced a string of influential displays.
Moyes would love to keep Donovan for a while longer and admitted on Friday that a possible MLS strike could allow him to do just that.
Asked whether this weekend’s game could be Donovan’s last, Moyes told Sky Sports News: “I don’t know yet, so I can’t give you an answer.
“At the moment it officially finishes on Saturday and after the game we’ll send him back.
“I think there’s a chance the players might strike over there and if that’s the case then we’re able to keep him no problem.
“He’s done great. He’s played in the team and settled in very quickly with the players and he’s had an impact so we can’t ask any more of him.”
