New West Ham manager David Moyes is reportedly set to make a number of purchases in the January transfer window to strengthen what is a struggling Hammers squad, and, according to the Guardian, the first man on Moyes’ list is Sunderland defender Lamine Kone.
The Ivory Coast international was recently ruled out for 10 weeks with a knee injury, which means that he could well have played his last game for Sunderland if he does indeed make the switch to West London. Kone worked under Moyes when the latter was in charge of the Black Cats, and the defender clearly impressed his gaffer enough to earn a move back to the Premier League.
According to reports Kone has also been linked with the likes of West Brom and Brighton, but West Ham will hope that they have the edge with Moyes at the helm, especially if he and the centre half had a good relationship at Sunderland.
