Mrs Schweinsteiger derails Juventus move

Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli says Bayern Munich ace Bastian Schweinsteiger’s girlfriend has derailed a move to the Serie A club.

“Schweinsteiger is an excellent player and we are talking about it,” said Cobolli Gigli to Tuttosport.

“I cannot say that he is officially of interest, because we have not yet finalised the situation within the club hierarchy.”

Reports in the German press says Schweinsteiger’s girlfriend Sarah Brandner does not want to move to Turin.

Cobolli Gigli continued: “I saw photographs of her in the newspapers and she is a beautiful woman. However, a great player should not let his career be dictated by such matters.

“He should be given the freedom to choose the solution that seems most opportune purely from a sporting point of view.”
