Bayern Munich forward Thomas Mueller believes creative players like Mesut Oezil help him perform at his best for Germany.
Mueller thinks that the former Werder Bremen attacker, now with Real Madrid, complements him well and added that while he preferred a more central role, he had no trouble interchanging positions.
“I see myself most effective behind a tip (main striker). I’ve always said so and it still applies,” Mueller told DFB’s official website.
“Mesut (Oezil) often comes with his left foot over to the right and then I’ll move to the inside. For my game, I just need one or two combination players around me.”
Mueller has largely been playing on the right wing for Germany since his debut in 2010 and has received rave reviews for his performances for the national side.
