(GSM) – Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is interested in bringing Fiorentina forward Adrian Mutu to the City of Manchester, according to Mutu’s agent.

The Fiorentina striker has been ordered to pay more than €17million to former club Chelsea for breach of contract in May. Mutu will possibly look to leave Fiorentina in January in the hope of securing a better contract elsewhere in case he does have to pay back the fine.

“There are several teams interested in Adrian,” Becali told cancan.ro.

“That would give him a salary of about €4million. I’ve received calls from Turkey and Russia, but especially there is Mancini who wants him at Manchester City.
Ideal player

“Mancini said that Mutu would be an ideal player for him. It remains to be seen if Fiorentina will be available to talk.”

“In last days of the market anything can happen,” he declared.

“Seven years ago, the last market day I did Mutu from Parma to Verona. If don’t arrive the substantial proposals we shall discuss with Fiorentina for a contract renewal of two years with an increase of salary.”
