Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov believes Charles N’Zogbia is starting to justify the plaudits which led to his capture from Wigan.
The winger endured a disappointing start to the season, failing to live up to his 9.5-million-pound fee and expressing concerns about his happiness at Villa.
However, after the Frenchman’s goal in Saturday’s draw with Blackburn, his captain believes the fans are finally seeing a player who is settled at the club.
“He is motivated to show what he’s all about,” Petrov said.
“He went through a tough period. Now he has started to get back into position and has scored a goal, which is good for us.”
“We know what kind of lad he is. It has been frustrating for him that he couldn’t show what he can do. But now he can.”
The point at Ewood Park sees the Villans eight points clear of the relegation zone.
