Aston Villa have completed the signing of France international Charles N’Zogbia from Wigan for a reported fee of 9.5 million pounds.
N’Zogbia, 25, completed the move on Friday after agreeing on a five-year contract.
He will be eligible to play for his new side in a pre-season friendly against Derby County on Wednesday.
The former Newcastle man played a key role in Wigan’s successful battle to avoid relegation last season.
And the left winger is now looking forward to the challenge of winning over the Villa Park faithful.
“I think it is going to be a really good season and hopefully I’ll do well here,” N’Zogbia told Villa’s official website.
“I can’t wait to meet my new teammates, play with them and work together to do something special this season.”
N’Zogbia is expected to replace wingers Ashley Young and Stewart Downing, who left for Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.
He is Villa’s second signing of the close season, following Republic of Ireland international Shay Given, who joined from Manchester City on July 18.
