Nacho turned down Sevilla

According to a recent report from Marca, Real Madrid defender Nacho turned down the possibility of signing for fellow Spanish side Sevilla during the summer transfer window. Julen Lopetegui was interested in being reunited with Nacho at the club, but as it turns out, he’s pretty happy where he is. It’s well known that Nacho isn’t one of the first names on the team sheet at the Bernabeu, and you could even argue that there are three other names ahead of him in the centre back pecking order. Despite that, he’s willing to wait it out for his chance to shine, as opposed to taking the risk of jumping ship to Sevilla.

Whether or not this is a decision based on money or just his own personal situation really isn’t anyone’s business, but it certainly feels as if he’s going to be a source of intrigue for many top Spanish clubs in the lead-up to January.
