(GSM) – Nagoya Grampus extended their lead in the Japanese J League, beating Gamba Osaka 3-1 in Sunday’s encounter.

After Kashima Antlers lost their second place to Cerezo Osaka on Saturday, Nagoya had a change to extend their advantage to a comfortable five points.

Naoshi Nakamura put Nagoya in the lead after seven minutes at the Mizuho Athletic Stadium, but had his goal canceled out by Hideo Hashimoto 11 minutes later.

Colombian Luis Danilson then made it 2-1 in the 32nd minute and Australian Joshua Kennedy, who in the past played for Karlsruhe SC in the German Bundesliga, added a third ten minutes after the hour.

All J League teams have played 20 games so far and Nagoya are now five points ahead of Cerezo Osaka, Kashima Antlers and Shimizu S-Pulse.
