French side Nancy have cancelled two friendlies that were scheduled for August, reportedly because of fears over swine flu.
Nancy were expected to meet with West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace. However, club staff eventually decided against the England trip.
“The Nancy staff have judged it reasonable not to take the slightest risk a week before the start of the season,” the club announced in a statement.
The United Kingdom is by far the most affected country by the A(H1N1) in Europe, with close to ten thousand reported cases. France currently have a reported amount of over 400 cases.
Instead of travelling to England, Nancy have announced a replacement friendly with AJ Auxerre.
