The agent of Manchester United winger Nani, Andrea Pastorello, expects the player to leave the club when the transfer window re-opens in the summer.
Nani, who joined United from Sporting CP for €25.5 million in the summer of 2007, put pen to paper on a new five-year contract at Old Trafford in September.
Upon securing Nani’s services until 30 June 2008, David Moyes said: “I’m really pleased Nani has re-signed for the next five years.
“He has great ability and experience beyond his 26 years. I’ve been impressed with his approach to training and look forward to working with him in the coming seasons.”
However, the Portugal international, 27, has made just nine English Premier League appearances — without a goal — this season and finds himself behind the likes of Adnan Januzaj, Ashley Young and Shinji Kagawa in Moyes’ pecking order.
ACF Fiorentina, who secured the loan signing of United midfielder Anderson in January, are reportedly leading the race for Nani but the 27-year-old’s wages — believed to be in the region of £100,000-a-week — could prove to be a stumbling block.
“Nani is a very important player and at this time the only thing I can say is that he is likely to leave Manchester,” Pastorello told Violanews.com.
“The problem for Fiorentina and other Italian clubs is the player’s salary. But we will evaluate all bids.
“Our relationship with United is great. Fiorentina have to speak with Manchester United about Anderson and maybe there will be an opportunity to talk about Nani too.”
Bryan Ruiz happy at PSV
Fulham forward Bryan Ruiz, who is currently plying his trade at Dutch Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven, would welcome a permanent move to Holland but remains open to seeing out the remainder of his contract at Craven Cottage.
The Costa Rica international, 28, left Enschede for West London in August 2011, and has g0ne to tally eight goals and 13 assists in 68 Premier League appearances, including 51 starts, for Fulham.
The former FC Twente star is enjoying his second stint in Holland and has confirmed he would be willing to return to PSV after this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
“I am really happy here at PSV,” Ruiz told Fox Sports Eredivisie.
“They have a new project for next season to become champions with a strong squad. I would like to be part of that.
“But first we have to see what happens. There are still games left, possibly play-offs, and after that the World Cup.
“What will happen depends on several things. I still have one year on my contract at Fulham.”
Ruiz, who has totaled four goals and two assists in 12 league appearances for PSV in 2014, is priced at 5000/1 to win the 2014 World Cup with Costa Rica.
