Manchester United winger Nani will not be staying with Sporting Lisbon beyond the current season, according to A Bola.
The Portugal international has largely impressed since joining the Lions on a season-long loan, and he probably wouldn’t mind staying at Estadio Jose Alvalade after the current campaign ends.
However, while Sporting might be able to reach an agreement over a transfer fee with Manchester United, the Lions chiefs are aware that Nani’s €5 million gross salary would be a huge burden for the club’s budget.
As a result, they are already preparing for life without the 28-year-old and are now in the market for his replacement.
Nani has been in fine form ever since he returned to Estadio Jose Alvalade, bagging 10 goals in 29 competitive outings.
It remains to be seen whether his impressive displays will prove enough for the attacker to earn a place in Manchester United’s squad for the 2015/2016 campaign.
