(GSM) – Manchester United winger Nani has praised manager Sir Alex Ferguson after the latter helped him find his best form following his return from injury last season.

Ferguson decided to give Nani a second chance after the Portuguese winger criticized the Scott’s man-management skills following a pre-season injury last term.

“I had bad moments,” he told The Times. “But the manager [Ferguson] has been very important for me.”

“I was injured, I was playing badly sometimes. I had problems inside my head.

“But at that time he was good for me because he said ‘You just have to work, and at the right time I will give you opportunities. When you get your opportunity you’ll take it’.”

After proving himself with a series of quality performances on the pitch last season, Nani is targeting silverware this season in order to add to his trophy haul.

“The target at this club is always the same – to win every trophy we can,” he added.

“It’s a special mentality here. It’s obligatory to learn how to win. You can’t help it.

“At my home I have a room in it with my medals and trophies in it. In three years I have won a lot. But I can win more.”
