Napoli agree deal for Davide Santon

Serie A giants Napoli have emerged as favourites to sign Davide Santon from Inter Milan, according to Tuttosport.

After his proposed move to Sunderland fell through, Crystal Palace attempted to bring the player to Selhurst Park, but the latest reports claim that the Azzurri now have the upper hand.

Namely, the player has already accepted an offer from Napoli, while the club officials are close to agreeing a €6 million deal with Inter Milan.

The Azzurri decided to turn their attention to Santon after failing to lure Silvan Widmer to Stadio San Paolo, and they should soon complete the transfer.

Davide Santon returned to Inter Milan two years ago following a largely successful stint with Newcastle United, but that proved a wrong career move.

The 25-year-old only amassed 21 Serie A appearances since returning to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and he will be hoping for a more successful spell with Napoli.
