According to Calciomercato, both Napoli and AC Milan are very interested in signing Jonathan David from LOSC Lille this summer.
The 24-year-old striker has so far scored 24 goals and produced seven assists over 42 appearances in all competitions for Lille this season. His contract with the Ligue 1 side expires in just over 12 months, and for potential suitors, now is obviously a good time to push to acquire his services.
With Victor Osimhen heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, Napoli see David as a good replacement for the Nigerian star. Meanwhile, the Canada international is also considered a good addition to the squad by Milan, as Olivier Giroud prepares to make his way to the MLS.
At the moment, Napoli are working very hard on this deal. They’ve apparently agreed personal terms with David on a five-year contract worth €3 million per year in salary, but a significant gap between their offer of €35 million and Lille’s demand of €45 million remains a hurdle.
Meanwhile, Milan are watching the situation closely, ready to pounce when they feel the time is right.
