Napoli have begun their European adventure with a 3-2 win over Benfica Lisbon at Naples’ San Paolo stadium.
The former UEFA Cup winners conceded a goal from Suazo in the 16th minute but Vitale levelled just two minutes later.
And Napoli even managed to take the lead through Denis after another two minutes.
Ten minutes into the second half, it was Maggio to make it 3-1 to the Italian hosts. Luisao did get one back for Benfica in the 59th minute but the Portuguese side failed to score another.
That second goal could prove to be of great importance though, as a 1-0 victory at home would now be enough for Benfica to make it through to the next round.
