Napoli are on the verge of signing Alvaro Pereira from Porto, according to Correio da Manha.
The Azzurri have been paired with a number of high-profile players during their search for a new full-back, with boss Walter Mazzarri looking for a player who can play on either wing.
Just when it seemed that the Serie A side would not be able to sign a new wide player, Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha reports that Napoli are set to sign Alvaro Pereira from Porto.
The same source states that the Azzurri have agreed to pay €1 million for season-long loan, with Porto due another €9 million if Napoli decide to sign the player on permanent basis.
The 26-year-old was valued at €30 million not so long ago, but it appears that Porto chiefs agreed to let the player leave for much less after he was involved in a series of incidents during the last few months.
Alvaro Pereira is equally adept at playing left and right full-back, which makes him a perfect signing for the Azzurri.
