Italian daily Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Napoli are on the verge of signing Brazilian midfielder Jorginho from Hellas Verona.
The Azzurri are desperate to sign a holding midfielder by the end of January, but they have fallen in pursuit of quite a few high-profile footballers so far.
That is exactly why they have turned to Hellas Verona starlet Jorginho, who is clearly a more realistic target.
Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested that Napoli have submitted an official proposal for the 21-year-old worth €8 million, and with the Gialloblu holding out for €10 million, an agreement appears on the horizon.
Rafael Benitez instructed club chiefs to make a move on Jorginho after seeing him in action in the weekend’s clash between Verona and Napoli, and everything suggests the youngster will be arriving at Stadio San Paolo in the coming days.
Jorginho has been in fine form this season, having registered no less than 7 goals in 18 Serie A outings.
