Serie A giants Napoli have made Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi their primary target to replace compatriot Gonzalo Higuain, Mediaset Premium has suggested.
It is only a matter of days before the Argentine striker completes a controversial switch to Juventus, something that the Azzurri fans will never forgive him for.
But, rather than crying over the loss of their star player, Napoli officials have been working hard to find a perfect successor and they appear to have found their man.
Namely, the Azzurri submitted a €42 million bid for Inter Milan hotshot Mauro Icardi, and even though their first proposal was rejected, they should be able to find an agreement with their cash-strapped league rivals.
Napoli have already held first talks with the player’s wife and agent Wanda Nara, presenting a five-year deal for her client worth €5 million per season.
Under the terms of the agreement, Icardi will also be entitled to 50% of his image rights, while the couple has also been promised a brief appearance in the next movie of Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis.
