Serie A giants Napoli appear to be close to agreeing a deal for Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Azzurri have spent last few weeks trying to find a perfect replacement for Arkadiusz Milik, the striker who will miss few more months through injury, and they appear to have made their decision.
Latest reports from Italy claim that Napoli officials have intensified the talks with Genoa chairman Enrico Preciosi over striker Leonardo Pavoletti.
The two sides are currently negotiating on the transfer fee and everything suggests an agreement will be reached ahead of the January transfer window.
Leonardo Pavoletti, 27, has been in fine form ever since he joined Genoa from Sassuolo, scoring 23 goals in 44 league appearances for the Rossoblu, and he now looks set for a big club move.
It remains to be seen whether his arrival at Stadio San Paolo will spell the end for Manolo Gabbiadini, who has failed to take his chance in the aftermath of Milik’s injury.
