Serie A leaders Napoli have emerged as favourites to sign Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira, according to Tuttosport.
The Azzurri have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with their league rivals, but the amount of the transfer fee is not yet known.
It is no secret that Sampdoria were holding out for €30 million and they were not interested in selling their prized asset midway through the season.
Lucas Torreira, 22, made instant impact at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, making 51 league outings for the club and scoring 4 goals.
The potential arrival of the Uruguayan at Stadio San Paolo means that one of Jorginho or Diawara is likely to leave next summer.
