Serie A giants Napoli are set to launch a new assault on Sampdoria forward Manolo Gabbiadini, according to Tuttosport.
With both Lorenzo Insigne and Michu suffering injury, the Azzurri are desperate to add another forward to their ranks as soon as the January transfer window opens.
After looking at a number of high-profile players, they seem to have chosen Sampdoria’s Manolo Gabbadini as their primary target.
The forward who is co-owned with Juventus is valued at €14 million and the latest reports suggest Napoli are ready to match the asking price.
The Azzurri will attempt to close the deal even before the transfer window reopens so that the Italy international can join them during the winter break.
Manolo Gabbiadini, 23, has made a total of 10 Serie A outings for Sampdoria, scoring 4 goals in the process, while he ended a two-year exile from the national team by featuring in a November friendly against Albania.
