Serie A giants Napoli are on the verge of signing Austrian defender Stefan Lainer from Red Bull Salzburg, according to L’Equipe.
The Azzurri have reportedly had a €12 million accepted for the right-back, who should soon complete a move to Stadio San Paolo.
Lainer is expected to challenge Elseid Hysaj for a starting berth at Napoli with Christian Maggio having left the club.
The 25-year-old has so far produced 12 goals and 25 assists in 128 competitive appearances, which is an excellent return for a full-back.
Lainer appears to have nailed down a regular starting berth in the Austrian national team of late, having played full 90 minutes in four friendlies this year.
