Serie A title contenders Napoli might have surrendered the leading spot in the standings following the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Juventus but they will not give up the Scudetto chase that easily.
The Partenopei suffered their first domestic defeat this weekend with unbeaten Inter Milan overtaking the first place and Napoli are already making bold plans for the winter in order to reinforce their squad and mount a more serious Serie A challenge in the second part of the season.
Napoli are said to have four names on their winter agenda.
Race for defensive reinforcements has been narrowed down to Grimaldo and/or Vrsaljko with one of them expected to arrive in January.
Bologna forward Simone Verdi is also on the list. Napoli’s Serie A rivals are said to be asking for €25 million for their player and Partenopei are thus exploring other options with Domenico Berardi being identified as one of the biggest targets in attack.
The Italian media outlet Il Mattino reports that Sassuolo star is keen on a switch to Napoli despite interest from Juventus and could join the Serie A hot-shots in January or June the latest.
