Napoli have confirmed that star forward Ezequiel Lavezzi is on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine international was heavily linked with a summer exit from San Paolo, with a number of high-profile sides showing interest in his signature.
Free-spending Paris Saint-Germain were seen as the favourites to sign the highly rated forward and it has now been revealed the Saints have indeed won the race for Lavezzi.
Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed the two clubs have reached an agreement over the transfer fee, but did not want to disclose the actual amount.
“We talk of a sum of thirty one million euros in the press but the agreement remains confidential and I will not reveal official figures,” De Laurentiis told Radio Marte.
“All I can say is that the Lavezzi case will be concluded next week.”
The deal is expected to be finalized on 13th June, the opening day of the summer transfer market in France.
The 27-year-old, who joined the Azzurri in a €6 million deal from San Lorenzo in 2007, has scored a total of 38 goals in 125 Serie A games for the San Paolo outfit.
