Napoli have moved to confirm they are in talks to sign forward Manolo Gabbiadini from Serie A rivals Sampdoria.
It is no secret the Azzurri are in the market for attacking reinforcements and the Italy international has emerged as their primary target.
With Gabbiadini co-owned between Sampdoria and Juventus, Napoli need to reach an agreement with both clubs as well as the player.
But, it appears the Azzurri have been making progress, given that sporting director Riccardo Bigon has revealed talks for the highly rated forward.
“He is an interesting player we are still talking about, both with him and the club that owns him,” Bigon told Mediaset ahead of the Europa League fixture against Slovan Bratislava.
Manolo Gabbiadini, 23, has been in fine form for Sampdoria this season, scoring 5 goals in 11 Serie A appearances.
The youngster made his first appearance for the national team after more than two years as he featured in a November friendly against Albania, while he was an unused substitute in a Euro 2016 qualifier vs Bulgaria.
