According to a recent report over in Italy, Napoli are entering the race to sign Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi. The Argentine striker has been edging his way closer and closer towards the exit door with Inter over the course of the last few months, and now, it seems as if his departure is a certainty. The question that remains is where he’ll end up going, with Real Madrid being the other club that has been mentioned alongside Napoli.
Real are the favourites, as they’re believed to have bettered the offer of €9 million per season plus €2 million in bonuses. Juventus are also in the running, but for the time being, Real are still the club in the spotlight.
However, that could change depending on what Zinedine Zidane wants to do. The returning manager will likely be taking a look at the many players that his club have been linked with, and if he decides against pursuing Icardi, then it could open the door for Napoli to swoop back in.
