Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested that Napoli are hot on the trail of FC Porto hotshot Hector Herrera.
It is no secret the Azzurri are in the market for midfield reinforcements, with Rafael Benitez having lost faith in Gokhan Inler and Jorginho.
And while Christoph Kramer and Maxime Gonalons remain on their radar, FC Porto star Hector Herrera is the latest name on club’s hit list.
After shining for Mexico at the 2014 World Cup, the 24-year-old continued the rich vein of form on club level, scoring 7 goals in 34 league outings this season.
Herrera has a contract until June 2017 at Estadio do Dragao and a €40 million release clause, but Napoli could test Porto’s resolve with a summer bid.
Since joining the Dragons from Pachuca, the Mexico star has managed 10 goals and 12 assists in 66 competitive appearances, while he started all four games for El Tri at the 2014 World Cup.
