Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Napoli are readying summer bid for AC Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini.
It is no secret the Azzurri are hoping to sign a back-up striker for Gonzalo Higuain and they have so far been linked with quite a few high-profile players.
However, Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Milan’s Giampaolo Pazzini has moved to the front of the queue.
Napoli boss Rafael Benitez believes the player’s quality and experience would make him a great addition to the squad at Stadio San Paolo.
Pazzini has been playing at a very high level for almost ten years now and having played second fiddle to Mario Balotelli at San Siro, it is believed he would be content with similar role in Naples.
The 29-year-old did not make Cesare Prandelli’s provisional World Cup squad, but he will certainly be rooting for the Azzurri, who are 25/1 to lift the coveted trophy.
