Chilean forward Eduardo Vargas has delivered a play me or lose me ultimatum to Napoli chiefs.
The 22-year-old joined the Azzurri in a big money move last January, but has utterly failed to prove his worth at San Paolo.
Despite the departure of Ezequiel Lavezzi, it is almost certain that Vargas will not be a first team regular this season, with Edinson Cavani, Goran Pandev and Lorenzo Insigne all in front of him in the pecking order.
However, the Chilean international is fed up with waiting for his chance and wants to leave the club on loan in order to get more playing time.
“I just want to play football,” Vargas told Radio ADN. “Otherwise I’ll ask the club to send me out on loan somewhere.
“We are in discussions with Napoli and we’re looking to understand what the best thing to do is.”
The Serie A side paid no less than €11.5 million for the talented forward, but it seems Vargas is taking more than expected to get used to the new surroundings.
The Chilean has failed to find the net in 10 substitute appearances in Serie A last term, and was pretty disappointing for most of the time he spent on the pitch.
