Spanish newspaper Levante understands that Napoli are stepping up their efforts to sign Valencia stopper Adil Rami.
The French defender has been on the Azzurri’s radar for quite a while, but the Stadio San Paolo outfit believe the time is right to make their interest concrete.
Napoli are even prepared to include their own Federico Fernandez in the deal, with the 24-year-old held in high regard in Spain after impressing while on loan at Getafe.
Adil Rami has been dropped from the squad after publicly criticizing new boss Miroslav Djukic, and it appears that he will be allowed to leave in January.
Napoli are unlikely to be the only high-profile side in the race for the player’s services, but they do seem to be leading the chase at the moment.
The 27-year-old has made a total of 61 La Liga appearances for los Che since arriving from Lille two years ago, scoring 2 goals in the process.
