Serie A side Napoli have raised their bid for Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons, reports Radio Monte Carlo.
The France international is one of the most sought-after players in Europe at the moment and he is widely tipped to leave his current employers in the summer transfer window.
While Arsenal and Roma are also showing interest, it looks as though Napoli are leading the chase for the highly rated footballer at the moment.
After having a €10 million bid rejected by Lyon chiefs, the Azzurri have raised their offer to €11 million, hoping to finally win the race for the player’s signature.
Maxime Gonalons has been making giants strides ever since he was handed a debut during the 2009/2010 season and he was even handed the captain’s armband last season.
The 24-year-old has scored 3 goals in 35 league matches in what could prove to be his final season at Stade Gerland.
