Croatian defender Ivan Strinic is on the radar of Italian side Napoli, according to the player’s official representative.
The Azzurri need to sign a left-sided defender as Faouzi Ghoulam will soon be leaving to represent Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations and the Croatia international is one of the players they are looking at.
Strinic appears to be a perfect target seeing as how his contract is due to expire on 31st December, meaning he can be signed on a free transfer in January.
The defender’s agent has moved to confirm there has been contact with Napoli even if the Azzurri have yet to submit an official proposal.
“Napoli? Yes, the player also like the Partenopei, so much so that we had a contact and we have also spoken,” agent Tonci Martic told Radio Kiss Kiss.
Ivan Strinic has been at Dnipro since January 2011, and he has been putting in some very good performances for the club on domestic and European stage.
The 27-year-old has been a first team regular in the Croatia national team for a while now, although he missed the 2014 World Cup through injury.
