La Liga side Villarreal have moved to confirm that Napoli have been showing serious interest in winger Samu Castillejo.
It is no secret that the Azzurri are in the market for attacking reinforcements, and they have recently been linked with Simone Verdi and Gerard Deulofeu.
However, Villarreal chairman Fernando Roig has now revealed that Samu Castillejo is also on their radar.
“Napoli’s interest has always been concrete and direct,” Roig told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“The Azzurri have been following him for two years. We’ve not had any contact recently, but things can change at any moment in the market. Never say never.”
Samu Castillejo, 22, joined Villarreal from Malaga in July 2o15 and has since scored 4 goals in 74 La Liga fixtures.
Sitting at the Serie A summit after 20 rounds, Napoli hope to clinch the first league title since 1990 and they are 1/1 to succeed in their quest.
