Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Napoli are the latest side to have joined the race for Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez.
The Spaniard could be made available for sale in the summer transfer window having failed to nail down a regular starting berth at Alianz Arena.
La Liga giants Barcelona and few more top clubs are believed to be keen, whilst Napoli seem to be showing interest as well.
Rafael Benitez is a big fan of the 25-year-old footballer and if an opportunity presents itself the Spaniard will be making a move on his compatriot.
Javi Martinez has made a total of 45 Bundesliga appearances since joining from Athletic Bilbao, while featuring in 19 Champions League matches, but he was often left on the bench in the high-profile games.
The midfielder has been named in Vincent Del Bosque’s provisional World Cup squad and there is every chance he will play an important role at the tournament finals.
