Gremio midfielder Fernando could be joining Napoli in the summer transfer window, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.
The highly rated midfielder, who is now a regular member of the national team, has seen his name linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs, but it appears that the Azzurri are in pole position at the moment.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have acquired the first option on the player during the negotiations taking Eduardo Vargas to Gremio, and everything suggests they are going to exercise the clause in the summer.
The player will not come on the cheap, as he is valued at €9 million, but the Azzurri are prepared to splash the cash on the midfielder who is predicted a bright future in the game.
Fernando, 21, has spent his entire career up to date at Gremio, making 106 league appearances for the Brazilian giants and scoring 8 goals in the process.
