Napoli are keeping close tabs on Javier Mascherano and Martin Skrtel, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Azzurri chairman Aurelio de Laurentiis has just suggested that the club plan to sign a defender, full-back and midfielder in the January transfer window.
Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Napoli have already outlined winter targets that include Javier Mascherano and Martin Skrtel, among other players.
Rafael Benitez knows both players well having coached them at Anfield and he is eager to lure him to Stadio San Paolo in January.
Meanwhile, the Azzurri are also thinking about Fabian Schar, Martin Montoya, Sime Vrsaljko, Maxime Gonalons, Thomas Vermaelen and Danilo D’Ambrosio.
Napoli are determined to mount a serious title challenge in Serie A this season, and despite sitting five points behind leaders Roma at the moment, the Azzurri look a good bet at 4/1 to lift their first league title after 23 years.
