Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo could be the subject of a summer bid from Napoli, reports Portuguese newspaper Correio de Manha.
The Paraguayan was on the verge of completing a €12 million move to Fenerbahce, but it appears Napoli are looking to hijack the deal.
The Azzurri are showing interest in the experienced forward as they prepare for life without Edinson Cavani, who is widely tipped to leave in the upcoming transfer window.
Correio da Manha understands that Benfica have raised their asking price to €15 million, but that is well within Napoli’s price range.
Cardozo, 30, is set to leave Estadio da Luz after spending last six years at the club, with his clash with coach Jorge Jesus pushing him further towards the exit door.
The Paraguay international has left a big mark at Benfica, having scored more than 150 goals in competitive fixtures and won no less than five trophies.
