Serie A giants Napoli are hot on the trail of Valencia hotshot Andre Gomes, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Azzurri appear ready to fight for the league trophy, but they aim to further reinforce the squad in the January window.
The latest reports suggest that they have made signing a high-quality central midfielder a priority, with Andre Gomes their number one target.
Napoli representatives have been following the Portuguese footballer for a couple of years now and they are convinced he would be a great addition to Maurizio Sarri’s squad.
As a result, they plan to launch an assault ahead of the January window, although it is perfectly clear that persuading Valencia to sell will be no easy task.
Andre Gomes, 22, quickly developed into an important member of the squad at Mestalla and he has so far made 41 La Liga appearances for los Che, netting 5 times in the process.
