Napoli line up Palacio swoop; Inter and Atletico keen on Alejandro Gomez

Napoli line up Palacio swoop

Napoli are weighing up move for Genoa forward Rodrigo Palacio, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Azzurri are bracing themselves for life without Ezequiel Lavezzi, who is widely tipped to leave San Paolo at the end of the season.

Napoli are, therefore, looking to sign a replacement for the Argentine and Il Corriere dello Sport understands that they have set their sights on Genoa striker Rodrigo Palacio.

The Italian newspaper claims Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis and his Genoa counterpart Enrico Preziosi have already established first contact.

The negotiations are set to continue, but Genoa’s high asking price could prove to be a problem.

Palacio has established himself as one of the most prolific forwards in Italian top flight, having scored 19 goals in 32 Serie A games this season.

The Argentine was heavily linked with a move to Inter, but the Neroazzurri have since turned their attention towards Ezequiel Lavezzi and Mattia Destro.

Inter and Atletico keen on Alejandro Gomez

The agent of Catania forward Alejandro Gomez claims his client is target for both Inter and Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine winger has attracted a lot of interest with his performances for the Elephants this season and he looks ready to leave Sicily for greener pastures in the summer.

The player’s representative reveals Inter and Atletico Madrid are showing interest in his client.

“Gomez is now a player ready to join a big club, seeing as he has done so well in two years at Catania,” agent Leonardo Rodriguez told Itasportpress.

“I spoke to Inter technical director Marco Branca 10 days ago and he expressed an interest in my client, but there are other teams in Italy and Spain who want Gomez.

“In particular Atletico Madrid are eager to sign him, seeing as their coach is Diego Pablo Simeone, who worked with Gomez at San Lorenzo and Catania.

“Will Gomez leave Catania? I think so, even if I’ll have to talk it over with their new director of sport Sergio Gasparin as soon as I get to Sicily.”

The 24-year-old attacker has been in fine form this season, scoring 4 goals and producing as many assists in 34 Serie A games.

Lyon chairman reveals transfer plans

Olympique Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed speculations that several high-profile players are set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Les Gones plan to trim down the squad and make some cutbacks after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

The club president Jean-Michel Aulas confirms a number of players will leave the club in the summer.

“We will let go a number of players. There will be three more departures than arrivals,” Aulas said at a press conference.

Ederson, Yoan Gourcuff, Michel Bastos and Aly Cissokho are all tipped to leave the club, whereas Kim Kallstrom is on the verge of joining Rubin Kazan.

“(The offer) may be accepted in case of another major proposal (from Rubin Kazan).”

Nonetheless, Aulas is adamant star players Hugo Lloris and Lisandro Lopez will not be leaving.

“Licha and Hugo will be there because they are non-transferable.”

Lyon squad are set for a major overhaul following yet another disappointing season, but coach Remi Garde is safe and is set to sign a new contract at Gerland.
