Italian daily newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Napoli are showing interest in Barcelona midfielder Alexander Song.
The Azzurri are expected to make a real splash in the winter transfer market in their attempt to revive their Serie A title bid, with central defender, full-back and holding midfielder expected to arrive this winter.
And while Daniel Agger and Luca Antonelli appear to be top of their hit-list when defenders are concerned, Barcelona’s Alexander Song has surprisingly emerged as a top target for the centre of the park.
Napoli seem to have cooled off interest in Lyon captain Maxime Gonalons and instead look set to try and lure the Cameroon international to Stadio San Paolo.
Given that the 26-year-old continues to play second fiddle to Sergio Busquets at Camp Nou, the Azzurri are hoping the Catalans would consider a January sale.
Following the latest setback Napoli sit ten points adrift of Serie A leaders Juventus, so no wonder they are 14/1 for the league trophy.
