Napoli are closely following Genoa midfielder Juraj Kucka and Sampdoria hotshot Pedro Obiang, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
Having done so well to close the gap behind Serie A leaders Juventus to just two points, the Azzurri hope to improve their chances of staying in the title race with several January signings.
Signing a central midfielder to help Gokhan Inler and Valon Behrami appears to be a priority, but the problem is president Aurelio de Laurentiis and boss Walter Mazzarri have contrasting opinions.
While the controversial chairman wants to sign a young and talented player, Mazzarri would prefer a more experienced midfielder who would be able to help the team straight away.
This is probably why the Azzurri are being linked with both Juraj Kucka and Pedro Obiang.
Genoa star Kucka has developed into one of the best central midfielders in Serie A and he could be tempted into joining a bigger club now that the Rossoblu are deep in the relegation zone.
Acquiring Pedro Obiang, however, could prove to be a much more difficult venture, given that Sampdoria regard him as an important player for the future.
