Serie A giants Napoli are keeping close tabs on Wolfsburg goalkeeper Koen Casteels, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Azzurri have yet to sign a long-term successor to veteran shot-stopper Pepe Reina and they see the Belgium international as one of the candidates.
Casteels came through the youth ranks at Genk, but left the club for Hoffenheim in 2011 without making a single first team appearance.
The 24-year-old went on to feature in 39 Bundesliga games and he was sold to Wolfsburg in January 2015.
After making 13 league outings last season, Casteels began the current campaign as the number one shot-stopper, starting first 8 league fixtures, but he eventually lost his place to Diego Benaglio.
Nevertheless, Napoli seem to believe that he has the potential to develop into a world-class goalkeeper and they could make their move at the end of the season.
