Napoli are stepping up their interest in Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, Tuttosport has revealed.
According to the Daily Mail, Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has told the Belgian that he is not in his first team plans and he is ready to listen to offers for the highly rated footballer.
Tuttosport understands that Napoli are already in talks with Manchester United as they want to sign the player on a season-long loan with an option to buy, but the two sides are still not close to reaching an agreement.
While the Azzurri plan to pay €2 million for the loan and then agree on a buy-out clause, the Red Devils are reportedly holding out for €4.5 million for this season alone.
Also, Fellaini’s €5 million yearly wage is likely to prove a problem, so Napoli hope his parent club will agree to cover some €3 million.
The Azzuri have big ambitions for the upcoming season and they are 4/5 to achieve a top 3 finish for the third year in a row.
