Napoli have rejected a bid from Manchester City for Jorginho, according to the Mirror.
The bid in question was €45million. Napoli demand €60million for the midfielder and they insist they won’t let him go for anything less than that.
Jorginho has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool too, but recently it seems the newly crowned Premier League champions are the strongest favorites for his signature. Pep Guardiola is looking to take some of the load off the shoulders of Fernandinho, as well as to find a long-term successor for the Brazilian. Jorginho, who was born in Brazil but plays for Italy, is seen as the perfect candidate.
However, if they are to get the deal over the line and bring the player to the Etihad, City will have to increase their offer significantly and meet Napoli’s demands. Within the Italian club it is believed that if Maurizio Sarri takes over at Chelsea, he might be interested in taking Jorginho with him which would spark a bidding war between the two English clubs.
